Beck’s Hybrids: seven years of craft

My first chapter. I joined the largest family-owned seed company in the US as an intern and left as its Digital Multimedia Specialist — designing and photographing product guides, building interactive displays, and translating between creative and development on a website redesign.

Product & program guides

I was responsible for the design and much of the photography of Beck’s annual product guide (2016) and was lead designer and photographer for the rewards section of the 2017 product and program guide — long-form print production for an audience of farmers, from grid and typography to on-location and studio photography.

Interactive displays (2018)

Led the development, design, and management of interactive BrightSign displays and corporate digital signage across multiple properties. Worked with internal stakeholders to plan experiences for interactive facility tours, Beck’s Experience Center, and Purdue FarmHouse Fraternity.

PFR website redesign (2017)

The Practical Farm Research (PFR) site.

Liaison between the creative and development departments on the PFR website redesign and information architecture — translating requirements and constraints between teams while designing Bootstrap assets and troubleshooting HTML/CSS. This was the job where I learned that the most valuable person in the room is often the one who can speak both languages.

Dynamic ads & motion

Designed Beck’s dynamic ads and motion graphics for social and display — the start of the motion and broadcast graphics work that later defined Pacers Gaming.
